Also known as "Timor Black," this is a medium-sized erect black bamboo from Indonesia, not as large or vigorous as G. atroviolacae. The culms often have a few subtle green stripes after turning black. This is a handsome slender bamboo with few lower branches that grows in a fairly compact clump.
