Esterilla: A section of culm that has been opened flat with a hatchet; used for covering flat or curved surfaces such as table tops, walls, ceilings, etc.
Internode: The segment of a stem bounded by two nodes.
Node: The place on a stem (or other axis) where a leaf is inserted, and where the otherwise (usually) hollow culm is divided by a septum or diaphragm.
Offset: An offset is a small division from a clump, including rhizome(s), roots and culm(s). In large tropical bamboos these can sometimes be cumbersome.
